Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: Greater Salt Lake City, Utah

As part of a fast growing tech company, you will help design, implement, and maintain process automation to help scale Lucid’s internal systems to meet demand and reduce complexity in existing workflows.   • Collaborate with a team that provides site reliability engineering for all Lucid products
  • Work with product teams to ensure that new features and services are integrated with Lucid’s standard platforms, CI/CD tools, and operational protocols
  • Work with product engineering teams to develop and utilize automated CD processes to enable rapid SaaS product releases on a global scale
  • Ensure all systems/applications are adequately monitored, with effective logging, metrics, and alerts
  • Work with product engineering and SaaS operations teams to ensure successful product launches and releases from an operational perspective, i.e. no big problems during or after deployment and a good customer experience throughout the launch
  • Work with product teams to identify and implement operational cost reductions and optimizations
  • Define standard process for releasing features, working with monitoring, etc.


  • 3+ years of experience administering Linux systems with a strong working knowledge of their underlying components, system statistics, and performance tuning
  • Ability to analyze issues and solve complex problems across large systems
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible,  or Saltstack
  • Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language such as Perl, Python, or Ruby
  • Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as: HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP and Load Balancing
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and Splunk
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking and collaborating with executives, management, developers and peers

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • One or more AWS certifications are highly desirable
  • Good understanding of the JVM and how to troubleshoot heap, thread, and other issues
  • Experience in databases & SQL
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating SaaS products in a public cloud environment with high scalability and multi-regional deployments, preferably in AWS
  • Experience with designing and managing large scale customer-facing environments with high availability requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills
