Director of Compensation

Location: Greater Salt Lake City, Utah

As the Director of Compensation, you will partner with the Sr. Director, People Operations to design and deliver Lucid’s compensation philosophy enabling us to attract and retain top talent. You will partner with the executive team, People Business Partners, and Lucid’s leaders in creating and implementing a variety of compensation initiatives including Lucid’s bonus and merit program, job analysis and market pricing, executive compensation, and parity analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive recommendations on compensation policies and procedures.
  • Job analysis, documentation, and market research to drive recommendations regarding company compensation structure.
  • Partnering closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure accurate and equitable compensation packages are offered to new candidates and internal promotions.
  • Partnering closely with People Business Partners and business leaders to develop compensation ladders for roles within the organization.
  • Acting as the point of contact and subject matter expert for global compensation, collaborating with leaders across the organization to consult and resolve compensation questions and issues.
  • Spearheading Lucid’s annual bonus cycle along with promotions and merit increases.
  • Cross-functional collaboration on workforce planning with People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and FP&A Partners.
  • Participating in external compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine the Company’s competitive position including annual Radford data submissions and survey questionnaires.
  • Refreshing Lucid’s compensation ranges annually to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Driving compensation parity through regular analysis and creating processes to minimize bias.
  • Partnering with Sales Operations to assess variable compensation package competitiveness.
  • Vetting and leading outside consultants on highly specialized projects (e.g., executive compensation, equity plan design).
  • Partnering with Finance in budgeting and forecasting for compensation spend within compensation programs.
  • Assist in the administration of bi-annual performance management programs as it relates to bonus, merit, and promotion cycles.
  • Keeping a pulse on changes in the local market as well as the tech industry in general.

Requirements:

  • 2+ or more years in a compensation leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience in compensation and/or human resources
  • Experience managing compensation for an organization of over 500 employees
  • Demonstrated expertise in market analysis, and job scoping (experience with Radford survey data preferred)
  • Strong HRIS background with the ability to pick up and navigate any system with ease
  • Experience managing large amounts of data and creating rigorous processes and procedures to eliminate the possibility of error
  • Expertise in managing highly complex projects
  • Strong cross-functional project management experience
  • Experience creating compelling analysis for executive-level leadership
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (v-lookups, macros, and pivot tables)
  • Experience working in a high-tech or a high-growth environment is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in HR, Finance and/or Business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in international markets a plus
  • CCP certification a plus
