Staff Accountant


  • Month-end close on cash and accrual basis
  • G/L and cost accounting
  • Review bill and invoice entry to verify correct coding
  • Identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Manage amex transaction entry process
  • Calculate sales tax liabilities in many states
  • Assist in international GST filings
  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries, invoices, bills and reconciliations
  • Preparation for annual audit
  • Manage accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and deferrals
  • Numerous bank account reconciliations
  • Become subject matter expert of Netsuite and Recurly – verifying complete and accurate information syncing between them


  • 1-3 years experience as a Staff Accountant or similar position
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting with strong academic performance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Expert-level knowledge of assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses
  • Thrives a fast-paced, start-up-type environment
  • Bias towards finding solutions vs. shutting down ideas
  • Strategic thinker who operates with extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to drive change
  • Ability to work independently, with little direction
  • Passionate about teamwork and communication
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Highly organized with zeal for taking ownership
  • Tech savvy with a willingness to jump in a learn new systems
  • Out-of-the box thinker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Netsuite is preferred
  • CMA license is a plus
