Payroll Specialist

Location: Greater Salt Lake City, Utah

Lucid is seeking a dynamic and high performing Payroll Specialist as a new addition to our Payroll function on the Accounting Team. Our payroll team handles a multi-state US Payroll as well as payroll for our international offices in Amsterdam and Melbourne. We are looking for a payroll specialist who can work in many systems with efficiency and effectiveness in mind. Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working closely with the Accounting & People Operations teams, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for importing and maintaining accurate data in the payroll system. During the semi-monthly payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will assist with payroll preparation and participate in a detailed review. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current and accurate employment, pay and benefit information in payroll system
  • Verify, input and prorate pay and deduction changes with efficiency
  • Maintain all daily, on-going, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Perform standard audit checks and reconciliations
  • Manage collection and approval of hours for payroll processing
  • Participate in payroll reviews
  • Record fringe benefits with gross up tax calculations
  • Perform employment verifications
  • Participate in Financial and 401(k) audits
  • Support team members with special projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience reconciling data and comfortable managing and reviewing high volume of data at scale
  • Experience maintaining payroll and/or HRIS system(s)
  • Knowledge of payroll concepts
  • Excel proficiency
  • Passion for working with emerging technologies with an ability to understand new technical concepts
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with zeal for taking ownership
  • Strategic thinker who operates with extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, with little direction
  • Out-of-the box thinker
  • Motivation for excellence and exceeding expectations
  • Passionate about teamwork with an optimistic outlook
  • Responsive, customer service approach to employee needs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus
  • International payroll experience
  • Familiarity with benefits & leave
  • Comfortable with accounting concepts
