Senior Security Engineer

Location: Greater Salt Lake City, Utah

As a Senior Security Engineer at Lucid, you will be helping to protect corporate assets, including our world-class web applications, employees, and local space. Lucid Software’s security team protects and promotes an environment where business and development can quickly adapt and innovate. We stay abreast of evolving legal and business requirements through cutting-edge technologies and a DevSecOps mindset. Our mission is to protect and support the objectives of the business.
As an engineer functioning at a senior level, Lucid expects you to bring in-depth experience in at least some of the following areas: Identity Management, Functional Operational Metrics, Threat Hunting, Compliance, AWS Security Toolsets and Endpoint Management.

  • Design, implement, and monitor threat intelligence data systems related to the Lucid Software applications, internal business systems, and customer data
  • Actively use industry standard security benchmarks (e.g. CIS 20) to measure Lucid’s internal risk and control posture
  • Actively identify and proactively implement security controls to protect against internal and external threats
  • Design and implement security recommendations for all areas of the business, software applications, and physical controls
  • Perform regular internal penetration tests
  • Coordinate external penetration tests with 3rd party providers
  • Design, implement and monitor compliance with security standards, policies, industry regulations, and customer requirements


  • Recent experience (2+ years) in web application security
  • 5+ years experience in a technical security field
  • Ability in reading and writing legal and business text
  • Technical ability to script and automate security controls
  • Deep understanding of the HTTP and TCP protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with implementing Anti-Malware, FIM and Configuration Management solutions
  • Experience with Identity Providers such as G-Suite, Active Directory, and Okta
  • Familiarity with cloud provider security models (e.g. AWS - IAM, GuardDuty, Inspector, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch)
  • Experience implementing controls for industry standard frameworks (e.g. SOC 2, ISO27000, FedRamp, CIS 20, NIST)
  • Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CEH, GIAC, etc.)
  • Passion for designing and implementing high quality / robust solutions
  • Can thrive working in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and helpful
  • Bias towards finding solutions vs. shutting down ideas
